Working title: The International Speedway Car-Racing Film

Eight Twelve Productions, the film company that produced and distributed The Disappeared and Altina, is developing a new feature-length documentary scheduled to be filmed in 2012-13. The film has no title as of yet, but can be described as the Speedway Car-Racing Film and how this private enterprise nourishes big dreams from a small town, contributing to its economy and enriching the lives of its residents.

Centered on the track, the track owner, and a local young teenage race-car drivers  whose dreams are to advance from the Nascar World East Series to
eventually qualify for the Sprint Cup, the film also will explore the lives of other local race-car drivers and their desire to succeed amidst challenging economic conditions. As we concentrate on the compelling human story of our young racer, and on the sacrifices he or she and their family have made to sustain their passion for this sport, we will also interweave the contribution of the crew, team of mechanics, and the entire support system on which they rely. Following our driver through the Summer and Fall, we will capture them competing in the hope of fulfilling not only their dreams but also those of the race-track owner whose efforts to sustain an expensive and complex structure are rewarded when he can launch one of his young drivers into
the larger world of racing. As we feature our protagonist’s story prominently, as well as those of other young drivers, we will also focus on the Speedway
and the role its owner and the racetrack can play to help boost the local economy and lift the morale of this community.

The sustained efforts and the tenacity invested in maintaining this sport also shape the character of young people for whatever else they might want to do with their lives, creating a sense of community that also sustains them. In this regard, my film hopefully will attract your sponsorship and make it possible for local tracks to continue to support the dreams of these young drivers and the pride of a community in their healthy ambitions.

Ultimately, the story we will tell is that a true American hero is neither the racer who finishes first nor the track owner who sacrifices his financial security for his community, but also the people who keep their dignity and work through adversity at a factory or farm.

Sponsorship is fundamental to complementing this film. Without sponsors, the magic that the track generates year after year might fade, along with the young drivers’ dreams and all the economic sectors of the community the speedway sustains.

This film will be released in theaters across the United States and hopefully around the world. It will be distributed on DVD and available on rental and home video release.

Should you choose to sponsor or invest in this documentary, I can commit to placing your brand name or product in as many natural settings as possible, obviously without distorting the nature of the story. As Director and Producer of this film, I shall make every conscious effort to highlight and edit your product into this documentary.
